Meet the Coding-Fashionista

Yessy Eckley is a Senior Software Engineer for a prestigious company. She has been a Software Engineer for years with experience on several programming technologies. In short, many women look up to her because of what she does, and how she presents herself.

During a goal-setting meeting, she was approached by her manager to set a secret goal for anything she wanted to see accomplished. After pondering on what to do, an idea came to me, hitting me like a freight train, giving birth to an amazing project.

You see, she is on a team where she is the only female software programmer, a rarity in the programming industry. But guns blazing like a coding Maverick, she has managed to dish out high-quality code while still wearing ultra-super-duper high heels. Yeap! She proudly embraces her femininity, in heels, while going toe-to-toe with the ‘boys.’

As to her secret project, she wants to see a growth of women in the software development industry. She enjoys her career and feels women are missing out on such an incredible occupation. Therefore, she is tackling software programming by being herself, the trendy fashionista-geek-chick that loves tackling heavy-duty enterprise code while on heels.

She wants to inspire women to a career in Software Development and to embrace their femininity. She loves being a female software engineer. But intimately by the end of the day, she wishes there would be more like-minded women working as software developer and help the now minority of female programmers grow exponentially.

She has loved her career as a software engineer from the very beginning. To her, it was an adventure that she wanted to explore, enjoy, and share with others. Now, a Senior Software Developer and Creator of Simplex Code & Style, She is bringing to her dear Coding-Fashionistas two of her passions: coding and fashion.

She started as a Java developer but quickly transitioned to C# development. Also, Yessenia has worked with Oracle and SQL Server databases and ORMs, like Hibernate and Entity Frameworks. She has done backend and frontend development with a preference for backend development. But none has stopped me from going ‘ga-ga’ over a super cute piece of clothing or a nice pair of shoes.
