Hey there Coding-Fashionistas, Yessy here! Here is a little tidbit about myself and the purpose of this project.
I’m a Senior Software Engineer for a renowned company. I have been a Software Engineer for years with experience on several programming technologies. In short, many women look up to me because of what I do, and how I present myself.
Recently, I was approached by my manager to set a secret goal for anything I wanted to work on. After pondering on what to do, an idea came to me, hitting me like a freight train, giving birth to an amazing project.
You see, I’m in a team where I’m the only female software programmer, a rarity in the programming industry. But guns blazing like a coding Maverick, I’ve managed to dish out high-quality code while still wearing ultra-super-duper high heels. Yeap! I proudly embrace my femininity, in heels, while going toe-to-toe with the ‘boys’.
As to my secret project, I want to see a growth of women in the software development industry. I love what I do for a living and feel women are missing out on such an incredible career. Therefore, I’m tackling software programming by being me, the trendy fashionista-geek-chick that loves tackling heavy-duty enterprise code while on heels.
I’d want to inspire women to a career in Software Development who embrace their femininity. I love being a female software engineer, but secretly by the end of the day, I wish there were more like-minded women were working as software developer.
I have loved my career as a software engineer from the very beginning. To me, it was an adventure that I wanted to explore, enjoy, and share with others. Now, a Senior Software Developer and Creator of Simplex Code & Style, I’m bringing to my dear Coding-Fashionistas two of my passions, coding, and fashion.
I started as a Java developer but quickly transitioned to C# development. I have also worked with Oracle and SQL Server databases, ORMs, like Hibernate and Entity Frameworks, and done back-end and front-end development. But none has stopped me from going ‘ga-ga’ over a super cute piece of clothing or a nice pair of shoes.
My first job was a great test of wills and perseverance. I was initiated into the world of coding and software development by being told to quickly learn the technology they were using and be productive as they were on a really tight schedule. This was my trial by fire and how I began my adventures as a Coding-Fashionista.
So my dear Coding-Fashionistas let’s make this happen with code and style.
